One of the most important investments we can make as a nation is in the education, empowerment, and inclusion of our youth. The 1 Million Youths in Insurance Initiative is a bold and strategic step in this direction. As a Federal Government project, it is designed not only to tackle unemployment but also to drive economic growth and expand insurance penetration across our country.
This programme, presented under the Nigerian Youth Academy and endorsed by both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), provides young Nigerians with an unprecedented opportunity to acquire practical skills, gain industry certification, and secure a place in one of the most vital sectors of our economy.
Insurance is more than a profession; it is a foundation for financial stability and national resilience. Through intensive training, delivered at no cost via the NiYA digital platform, young participants will complete 40 learning modules and become fully equipped to work in the insurance sector. Upon graduation and certification, they will not only be able to build sustainable careers but also deliver insurance solutions within their own communities, protecting lives, livelihoods, and the well-being of countless Nigerians.
